How to Use

  1. Choose the invoice type: general VAT invoice (13%), special VAT invoice (13%), small-scale taxpayer invoice (3%), or zero-rate invoice (0%).
  2. Choose the input amount type: amount excluding tax (calculate tax and total) or total including tax (reverse-calculate the amount and tax).
  3. Enter the amount (a number not less than 0; results are rounded to cents with two decimals).
  4. Optionally enter a reimbursement percentage (0–100; blank or 0 means no reimbursement calculation).
  5. Click Calculate. The result lists the tax rate, amount excluding tax, tax amount, and total including tax; a reimbursement percentage also adds the reimbursable amount.
  6. Click Copy result, or Load sample data to fill in a 10,000 CNY special invoice at 13% with 80% reimbursement.

Features

  • Four invoice types: general VAT invoice (13%), special VAT invoice (13%), small-scale taxpayer invoice (3%), and zero-rate invoice (0%).
  • Two input modes: calculate tax and total from an amount excluding tax, or reverse-calculate the amount and tax from a total including tax.
  • Tax = amount excluding tax × rate; total = amount + tax; in reverse mode, amount = total ÷ (1 + rate).
  • Optional reimbursement percentage (0–100%); reimbursable amount = total including tax × percentage. Blank or 0 skips this calculation.
  • All amounts are rounded to cents (two decimals) and displayed with a ¥ prefix.
  • Copy result, load sample data, and clear are supported; all calculations run locally and no data is uploaded.

Use Cases

Verify tax amounts on supplier invoices
After receiving a supplier invoice, quickly check whether the tax and total match the amount excluding tax or the total including tax.
Calculate employee reimbursement
Apply a company reimbursement percentage such as 80% to the total including tax to get the reimbursable amount without manual arithmetic errors.
Quote small-scale taxpayer invoices
Use the 3% rate to estimate tax and total for small-scale taxpayer invoices when quoting or issuing invoices.
Learn tax-inclusive and tax-exclusive math
Switch between forward and reverse modes to understand the relationship between amount excluding tax, tax amount, and total including tax.

FAQ

Which tax rates are built in?
Four rates: general VAT invoice 13%, special VAT invoice 13%, small-scale taxpayer invoice 3%, and zero-rate invoice 0%. The rate is determined by the selected invoice type and cannot be edited manually.
How is the amount excluding tax derived from a total?
With the total including tax selected, the tool computes amount = total ÷ (1 + rate), then tax = total − amount, rounding both steps to cents.
What happens if the reimbursement percentage is blank or 0?
No reimbursement amount is calculated. The result shows only the rate, amount excluding tax, tax amount, and total including tax. Entering a value from 1 to 100 adds the reimbursement percentage and reimbursable amount.
How is amount precision handled?
Every intermediate and final amount is rounded to cents (two decimals) to prevent floating-point error from spreading, and values are displayed with exactly two decimals, for example 11300.00.
Can multiple invoices be calculated at once?
No. Each calculation covers one invoice and one invoice type. For multiple invoices, calculate them separately or record each result and total them yourself.
Is entered data uploaded?
No. The calculation runs entirely in the browser, makes no network requests, and does not save your input.
