FAQ

Why is no waveform showing?
The likely causes are that microphone permission was not granted, the wrong audio input device is selected, or another application has exclusive control of the microphone. Start by checking your browser's permission settings.
How do I test an external microphone?
Plug the external microphone in, switch the browser's audio input device selection over to it, and click Start test again.
The waveform reacts but the sound is very quiet. What should I do?
Raise the microphone gain in your system sound settings, or move the microphone closer to the sound source. Some microphones also need a boost option enabled in system settings.
Is my microphone still being listened to after the test?
No. When you click stop, the tool closes the audio stream and releases the microphone permission. You can also close the tab to end all audio capture completely.
