App Icon Generator
Upload one source image and generate rounded PNG icons for the iOS/macOS or Android size tables, then download them as a ZIP. Pick sizes, set a 0–50% corner radius, and process everything locally.

How to Use
- Click to select an image or drag it onto the dashed area. A 1024×1024 square PNG is recommended; non-square images are center-cropped.
- Switch between the “iOS / macOS” and “Android” tabs to change the size list.
- Drag the “Corner radius” slider from 0–50%; the default is 22%, where 0% is square and 50% is circular.
- Check the sizes you need under “Output sizes”, using “Select all / Select none” for bulk changes; the right panel previews 1024, 180, 120, 60, and 48 px results.
- Click “Download ZIP” to generate app-icons-ios.zip or app-icons-android.zip containing PNGs at the selected sizes.
- Click “Load sample data” to try the built-in 512×512 sample icon.
Features
- The iOS / macOS table has 12 common sizes: 20, 29, 40, 58, 60, 80, 87, 120, 152, 167, 180, and 1024 px (App Store).
- The Android table has 7 entries: ldpi 36, mdpi 48, hdpi 72, xhdpi 96, xxhdpi 144, xxxhdpi 192, plus Play Store 512.
- The corner radius is an integer from 0–50%, defaulting to 22%; the area outside the rounded corners is transparent, 0% keeps a full square, and 50% is nearly circular.
- Non-square sources are center-cropped with cover semantics to a square, then scaled to each target size without stretching.
- All output is PNG, packaged into a ZIP with fflate; iOS files are named Icon-{size}.png and Android files ic_launcher_{density}.png.
- At least one size must be selected; the preview shows 1024, 180, 120, 60, and 48 px, while exports use the full dimensions.
- Image loading, scaling, rounded cropping, and ZIP packaging all happen locally — the source image is never uploaded.
Use Cases
Preparing an iOS icon set
Generate all 12 notification, settings, Spotlight, iPhone, iPad, and App Store sizes from one 1024×1024 source.
Android launcher icons
Export ic_launcher PNGs for ldpi through xxxhdpi densities plus a Play Store 512 px asset in one ZIP.
macOS icon assets
Use the iOS / macOS size table to produce rounded 20–1024 px icons for a desktop app or prototype.
Fast icon visual checks
Preview how different corner radii and sizes look with the built-in sample before exporting final artwork.
FAQ
How large should the source image be, and what if it is too small?
A 1024×1024 square PNG is recommended. The tool scales the source to each target size, so if the source is smaller than a target (for example 1024 px), that icon is upscaled and may look soft. It does not fail because the source is small.
Will non-square images be stretched?
No. The tool uses cover semantics: the shorter side becomes the square edge, and the extra area on the longer side is cropped from the center before scaling. Nothing is stretched, but edge content may be cropped away.
The rounded corners are transparent — what if App Store submission rejects that?
Areas outside the rounded corners are transparent in the generated PNG. If a submission channel requires an opaque icon (for example, App Store icons must not contain an alpha channel), set the radius to 0% and use a source image with an opaque background, then regenerate.
Does this generate Android adaptive icons?
No. Android output is fixed-size PNGs for each density (ic_launcher_ldpi through xxxhdpi, plus Play Store 512), suitable for legacy launcher icons and store listings. Adaptive icons require separate foreground and background layers, which this tool does not generate.
How are files named inside the ZIP?
iOS icons are named Icon-20.png, Icon-180.png, Icon-1024.png, and so on. Android icons are named ic_launcher_ldpi.png, ic_launcher_xxxhdpi.png, ic_launcher_store.png, etc. The archive itself is app-icons-ios.zip or app-icons-android.zip.
Is the source image uploaded to a server?
No. Image loading, Canvas scaling, rounded cropping, and ZIP packaging all run in your browser; the source never leaves your device.
