How to Use

  1. Select your target model from the dropdown (SDXL, SD 1.5, Midjourney, DALL-E 3, Flux, Kandinsky 3). The model constraint note is shown below it.
  2. Enter the original image width and height in pixels, or click an aspect-ratio preset (1:1, 16:9, etc.) to generate a representative size.
  3. Click 'Calculate Best Resolution'. The tool picks the closest aspect-ratio match from the model supported list, or scales within the megapixel (MP) range for flexible models like Flux.
  4. Check the result cards: recommended resolution, pixel count and aspect ratio, plus an action tag such as 'Use directly', 'Slight crop needed' or 'Crop or pad needed'.
  5. Scroll to the resolution list to see all supported sizes for the model; the recommended one is highlighted.
  6. Click 'Load Sample' for a quick demo of a 16:9 landscape photo converted for SDXL.

Features

  • Built-in constraints for 6 mainstream models: SDXL, SD 1.5, Midjourney, DALL-E 3, Flux and Kandinsky 3.
  • Matches the supported resolution with the closest aspect ratio to your original image.
  • For flexible models like Flux, scales proportionally within the 0.1-2.0 MP range.
  • Aspect-ratio presets for 1:1, 3:2, 4:3, 16:9, 9:16 and 2:3, plus fully custom sizes.
  • Result cards compare original vs recommended size with MP and aspect ratio, and an action tag tells you whether to scale, crop or use it directly.
  • Results recalculate in real time as inputs change.

Use Cases

Prepare images for img2img
Convert a 1920x1080 photo into an SDXL-supported resolution before using it as img2img input to avoid generation errors.
Fit poster and cover ratios
Designing 16:9 or 9:16 covers? Use the presets to get model-supported sizes instantly.
Recompute when switching models
Moving from SD 1.5 to SDXL or Flux? Feed the same original image in and get the recommended size for the new model.
Learn model size limits
Browse the full supported-resolution list to understand differences such as DALL-E 3 fixed three sizes versus Flux arbitrary resolutions.

FAQ

Is the result exact?
It is a proportional calculation. For models with fixed resolution lists (e.g. SDXL), the tool picks the closest aspect-ratio match; for models like Flux that accept any resolution, it scales within the megapixel limit.
What if the aspect ratio does not match exactly?
The tool shows the difference between original and recommended ratios and suggests a slight crop or crop/pad. Final adjustments are usually needed during generation or post-processing.
Why does DALL-E 3 have so few options?
DALL-E 3 officially supports only three fixed resolutions (1024x1024, 1792x1024, 1024x1792), and the tool reflects that constraint honestly.
How are preset sizes determined?
Each preset generates a representative size of about 1 MP (1,000,000 pixels) at that ratio. You can fine-tune it afterward.
