How to Use

Choose a grade and worksheet settings, then click Generate to create a ready-to-print A4 arithmetic worksheet.

  1. Under Worksheet Settings, select a grade (1–6), the number of problems (4–40), image resolution (72, 150, 200 or 300 DPI) and format (PNG or JPEG).
  2. Optionally enter a worksheet title. If left blank, the title defaults to “Grade N Arithmetic Practice”.
  3. Check “Show answers in problems” or “Generate answer key at the bottom”. If inline answers are enabled, the bottom answer key is not drawn, so answers are not duplicated.
  4. Click Generate to create a new set. Use Download Image to save the worksheet, or Copy Image to place a PNG on the clipboard. If the browser cannot copy images, the tool falls back to copying the problems as text.
  5. Click Load Sample Data to fill in a Grade 3 worksheet with 20 problems, 150 DPI, PNG output and a bottom answer key.

The worksheet is drawn locally on a canvas. Long titles shrink automatically, and row height adapts to the number of problems and the answer key so content stays inside the page.

Features

Operations and number ranges follow the selected grade:

  • Grade 1: addition and subtraction only, numbers 1–20, no negative results.
  • Grade 2: multiplication is added using the 1–9 times table, with numbers up to 100.
  • Grade 3: division is added and always divides evenly, with numbers up to 1000.
  • Grade 4: numbers up to 10000; some addition and subtraction problems include one decimal place, and division may have a remainder.
  • Grades 5 and 6: numbers up to 100000 and 1000000 respectively, and subtraction may produce negative results.
  • In grades 4–6, division answers with a remainder are shown as “quotient … remainder”.
  • Export at 72, 150, 200 or 300 DPI as PNG or JPEG, using an A4 portrait two-column layout.
  • Show answers in red after the equals sign, or generate a four-column answer key at the bottom — never both at once.

FAQ

How do the grade levels differ?
Grade 1 uses addition and subtraction within 20 with no negative results. Grade 2 adds multiplication within the 1–9 times table. Grade 3 adds exact division up to 1000. Grade 4 raises the range to 10000, includes some one-decimal-place addition and subtraction, and allows remainders in division. Grades 5 and 6 extend the range to 100000 and 1000000 and allow negative subtraction results.
Why is the bottom answer key missing when inline answers are enabled?
This is intentional. The bottom answer key is drawn only when “Generate answer key at the bottom” is checked and “Show answers in problems” is not, so the same answers are never printed twice.
Can I generate more than 40 problems?
The input is limited to 4–40 problems and values outside that range are clamped. The layout logic can accept up to 60 problems, but the page never submits more than 40.
Which formats and resolutions are available?
PNG and JPEG are supported at 72, 150, 200 or 300 DPI. The default is 150 DPI; 300 DPI produces larger files that are better suited to printing.
Is any worksheet data uploaded?
No. Problems are generated randomly in the browser, and drawing, downloading and copying all happen locally. No data is uploaded.
