FAQ

Is this checklist legally binding?
No. It is a general reference only and does not constitute legal advice. Consult qualified legal counsel for your specific product and monitor local regulatory changes.
Do items change by region?
Yes. For China, items such as cross-border data transfer under PIPL, algorithm filing and the Interim Measures for Generative AI Services are added; for the EU, GDPR right to erasure, DPIA and DPO requirements are included.
How does the risk level affect the checklist?
Each item has a minimum risk requirement. High risk produces the longest checklist (quantified fairness, adversarial robustness, human takeover procedures, etc.); low risk keeps only the essentials.
Why do some items disappear for certain app types?
Items carry applicable app-type tags. For example, prompt injection protection appears only for chatbots and LLM agents, and face-recognition fairness only for image recognition or biometrics.
Can I save the checklist?
Yes. Export Text downloads an ai-ethics-checklist.txt file, and Copy Checklist copies the plain text to your clipboard.
