Use Cases
Cafe and restaurant guest WiFi
Print the code and put it on the table or wall so customers can connect themselves instead of asking staff for the password.
Office visitor access
Create a code for the guest network and leave it at reception or in meeting rooms so visitors and contractors get online quickly.
Home guest network
Print a code for houseguests and stick it somewhere visible so you stop reciting the password every time someone visits.
Events and trade shows
Display a WiFi code at your booth or venue so attendees can join the local network in seconds.
FAQ
Is connecting by WiFi QR code safe?
The code is simply an encoding of the same connection details you would type by hand, so it is no less secure. Do not post it publicly, though, since anyone who scans it can read the password and join.
Why did my phone not connect after scanning?
Scanning opens a "join network" prompt that still needs a tap to confirm. Some older Android phones and third-party scanner apps do not understand the WiFi QR format, so use the built-in camera app.
What if my network name or password contains special characters?
The tool escapes special characters automatically so the code stays valid. If a scan still fails to connect, double-check the password for characters that may have been mistyped.
Does the QR code expire?
No. The same code keeps working for as long as the WiFi password stays the same. Change the password and you will need to generate a new one.
