How to Use

  1. The device list starts with common items such as desktop, monitor, phone charger and desk lamp; edit names, power (W) and daily hours, or add and remove devices.
  2. Set the electricity price (per kWh), working days per month and per-seat air conditioning share (assumed 8h/day with a 0.7 simultaneous-use factor).
  3. Click Calculate (results also refresh as you type). Summary cards show daily, monthly and yearly costs, energy use and yearly carbon emissions.
  4. The detail table lists every device's daily/monthly/yearly energy and share, and a fixed comparison of laptop (65W x 8h) vs desktop (150W x 8h) yearly costs with the amount saved.
  5. Use Reset Devices to restore the default list.

FAQ

How are energy and cost calculated?
Daily energy per device = power (W) x hours / 1000 kWh; AC share = power x 8h x 0.7; monthly cost = daily energy x working days x price, and yearly cost = monthly cost x 12.
What does the 0.7 AC factor mean?
It assumes not every seat runs AC simultaneously - 70% simultaneous use - and you can change the power value and recalculate.
How is carbon estimated?
Yearly emissions use a grid average factor of 0.5kgCO2 per kWh; actual values depend on the local grid mix.
Is the laptop vs desktop comparison fixed?
Yes. It uses fixed examples - laptop 65W x 8h/day and desktop 150W x 8h/day - computed with your price and working days.
Can I add custom devices?
Yes. Click Add Device and set the name, power and daily hours; devices can be deleted anytime.
