How to Use

  1. Choose a resolution (1080p, 720p, 4K or custom width/height), frame rate and duration in minutes.
  2. Pick a content type: documents, static desktop, browsing, coding, video or games - each has a different compression ratio.

How accurate is the estimate?
It is a general estimate based on typical compression ratios per content type; the real size depends on scene complexity and encoder settings.
How is the raw size computed?
Width x height x 3 bytes (RGB) x frame rate x seconds.
Why is a game recording larger than a document one?
Fast-moving, detailed scenes compress much less: 30:1 for games vs 150:1 for static desktops.
Is AV1 always smaller than H.264?
The model estimates roughly half the size, but encoding is slower and player support is more limited.
How do I use a custom resolution?
Pick Custom in the resolution list and enter the width and height, e.g. 2560x1440.
